looks like it may be from a 55 series?
the bearing support, triangle looking bracket with the bolt in it, is from a 55.

That piece I picked up separately because I didn't have one it was also missing a u-joint. I purchased that as well. It was removed from a 40

I agree that bracket is not from a FJ40 but the winch is. The length of the short shaft that goes thru the front frame member is too short for a FJ55. Not sure what years the FJ55 pillow block bearing housing was steel not aluminum but the PTO driveline I have from a 77 FJ55 is steel. That bracket is not used on a FJ40 until the 1979 model. The pillow block bearing bolts to the radiator support bracket to riveted to the front frame member. From the factory all FJ40s had two tabs off that bracket to support the pillow block bearing. If someone mounts this bracket to the side frame rail the short shaft will not even reach the front crossmember much less go thru it and reach the winch.

That said would be interesting if you decide to sell the bracket separate.

If it came off a J-30 3Spd ,

- Then Other then the drive shaft being Too short , It should also Fit a Pre-8/80 4 Speed Transfer-case & H41 / H-42 4 speed Transmission's Too Right

- This exact Pillow Block Bracket is shown in My 1969 FJ55 Stand alone Chassis / Body shop Manual #9

Any Input ?

When I switched from a three speed to a four speed in my 68 FJ40. Just had the driveline lengthened three and a half inches. I used a piece of dash high/low shift linkage to make a new rod for the shift lever. To make this work on a FJ55 you need a different driveline.

I have a question about the shaft. I bought a complete pto that was from a 65 pick-up. So that should be a 3 spd which is what my 68 fj40 has. when I get it the short shaft is way to long I need something about 9.5 inches from mounting holes on the pillow block to the back of the winch is that what yours is. the one I have is 14.5 inches.

That shaft is most likely from a FJ55 or 79+ FJ40. Not original from a 65 FJ45. What Gabe is selling is correct for a 68.
