Price check on a used OEM receiver hitch.

A friend wants to buy my stock Toyota receiver, and according to CDan they are not only discontinued but they cost $1000 when you could get them.

So, is there any demand for these currently or should I just sell it to him cheap?

$1000! I'd widdle one out of a piece of wheat for that much money! I've had one for sale here on Mud and it appears there was one on eBay for less than $20 back in 2006. 80 Series hitches are going for around $100 also.

In the accounting world I would say it is completely depreciated. I recommend not reusing the hardware though.

I would never pay more than $100 for a used $200 hitch.

I just bought a factory toyota hitch from my local dealership. he told me what c-dan said, they are discontinued. he said that since they are discontinued, the retail price did not drop, but their cost dropped, so I got it for $175!
