so im getting ready to chop the rear quarters on the 62 and was wondering what to do when cutting the passsenger side quarter so I don't end up in cruiser heaven via a fiery explosion?

You have the inner cargo panels out right? You can see all of the expansion tank hoses running all over the place. Avoid them.

Ok, I spit my scotch out!

If all of the lines are good and connected properly, there should be no gas fumes in that area.

sweet, thats what I needed to know. I've heard too many horror stories about guys getting torched while welding around fuel tanks/lines

i used a stubby recipricating saw blade and a a non flammable lubricant to eliminate sparks...worked fine....just make sure all the wirinig harnesses are out of the way....on the right side all gas related studd should be tucked up enough but double check....good luck
