Putting your old press to use NickOh yea that’s a fun job, just did mine. Let me know if you still need help.
As an observer to this particular event I would say it in this case it would not have worked, These bushings were in there forever. In fact when they broke loose both Brian and I thought the something had failed or broken the sound was so dramatic.Curious if could be done with a hi-lift...
Yeah, when pressing out those bushings it usually sounds like a shotgun going off! FYI...if anyone needs a press in the future I have a 20ton available, and I even have a set of press dies so we don't have to hunt around for the right size socket or whatever else that may be laying around that can be used to press stuff out and then gets stuck and then you have to find something else to press THAT out and then you ruin whatever you used as a die and then you gotta run to the auto store to see if they have something that......you know what, nevermind. Just know I'm set up to press stuff in and out if needed. As an observer to this particular event I would say it in this case it would not have worked, These bushings were in there forever. Where did you get said press dies, HF?Yeah, when pressing out those bushings it usually sounds like a shotgun going off! HF?? Pah, do I look like a peasant? I only source my stuff from the most reliable of places. Amazon. Wanna say it was like $70 or so. Only the best hardened chinesium metals are allowed in my workshop. Haven't had one blow up on me so far. I am in the market for some better arbor plates though. Not big on the ones that came with the HF press.Where did you get said press dies, HF?
They are my go to source for tools I buy because I think I may need but rarely use. When you decide to walk on the wild side there's always FleaBay for excitement.HF?? Pah, do I look like a peasant? In other news, a new HF just opened up just down the road from me in Point Loma area, so I'm pretty stoked about that, because I really do love HF.
Same for me. Pretty sure the ones I got on Amazon are the same "quality" as the ones at HF.They are my go to source for tools I buy because I think I may need but rarely use. When you decide to walk on the wild side there's always FleaBay for excitement.
