Kurt from Cruiser Outfitters has always been awesome to me.

Go with solid rotors, not drilled or slotted. It's a truck, not a racecar :D

^^This. More places for mud and goop to live for zero reason. Oh yeah, buy paper towels in bulk :D

Thanks for the tip on the rotors. I didn't see rotor's on Kurt's website. I'll be calling them anyway to talk about the knuckle kit and will ask him about them.

This is for my 91 fj80.
I've seen the info on the 100 series pads, but haven't looked into it a lot. Is there much to it, other than just buying the pads and using those instead? I'm on the stock 15" rims, so not certain the 100's are an option for me.

not an option for 91s but you can always update to the larger fzj80 rotors and calipers on the front.

I'll give a third vote here. Use solids. Yes, the rotors on my 40 are slotted, but it's a racecar.:hillbilly:

lol @Rice

@lt1fire - Is there anything special to swapping out the calipers? I hadn't looked into the steps for swapping to the newer brakes.

So I'm pretty sure since I'm running stock wheels I can't go to the FZJ brakes, either.
I contacted Fred Anderson, here in Raleigh, looking at rotors and pads. I'm pretty sure I need the shim kit too. Am I missing anything else for the brakes? Anyone have an opinion (ha! I know you do) on OEM vs aftermarket on the pads?

Shim kit for ? No need for that.

I always go aftermarket on pads and rotors, but quality aftermarket. Even quality aftermarket is significantly cheaper than OEM and seems to work as well.
