With so much time and boredom on my hands while I wait for fenders to arrive I started thinking about installing an inclinometer. About four years back I purchased a functioning 90 Series Prado Inclinometer. Turns out it sits perfectly on the dash above the two center air vents. This thing measures pitch, roll, has compass, external temp display (albeit Celsius) and barometer. I have one on my 2000 4Runner and while that one is not as extensive as this unit it’s still nice to have. While I don’t relish potentially having this block my center ML speaker or having to drill there is a growing part of me that is itching to do it. I have a Prado wiring manual that identifies all wires, etc. There would have to be some painting and mount fabrication to make it look factory but par for the course. Here is a link to a video on these:

Thoughts?? Yay, Nay?? (As of the timing of this post I’m not at a 100 as far as installation 😂)

Hummmm... If were me, I'd be in the same shoes (and red pajamas) as you and not know what to do.
I too would love to have one, especially one so well equipped on dash. I think they're cool and functional. I admit, that is a tough decision on cutting up a dash and hoping all the fab work comes out looking factory.
But again, worst case, you buy a new dash. At least our vehicles are new enough that dashes are readily available, albeit, pricey.

Meh, I say no.

haha! That is the absolute best and funniest thing I’ve heard all day!! I’ll likely hold off and bury this bad boy in the basement again and wait for it to resurface in a few years 😂

What would the field of vision be like whilst in the drivers seat?

I would love one just for the fun of it, but it just seems too in the way.

Good question; you can still see out quite well. It is nifty but will likely be on the shelf a little longer.

I thought about one for the 4Runner...they look great but I asked buddies of mine with newer Tacos if they used it and most said no. I feel like they're obsolete...fading like the V8s.

lol, love that gif. It actually works better from a setup standpoint on the 4Runner as there’s no speaker there and the space is flat.

I love the look of them but hate the idea of cutting the dashboard

2020 460.. it also has a camera trick mode that uses past footage to emulate an underside camera. I think same version as what is on the Tacoma

I have given some thought to swapping out my 10-13 head unit for a 20 when the time comes. Clearly won’t have all the functionality and who knows if it’ll even plug and play easily but I like that they have upgraded the system! Thanks for the post!
