I just did a simple Google: 2024 gx 550 weight - Google Search - https://www.google.com/search?q=2024+gx+550+weight&client=firefox-b-1-d&ei=7pqgZNrbLqXhkPIPjceSwA0&ved=0ahUKEwjaiteguu7_AhWlMEQIHY2jBNgQ4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=2024+gx+550+weight&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQAzIFCAAQgAQyCAgAEIoFEIYDMggIABCKBRCGA0oECEEYAVDEAVjzDmCREGgBcAB4AIABxQGIAYcHkgEDMC41mAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=gws-wiz-serp
And for all the nay sayers, 😝 (and I say this with all due respect, considering I do truly respect all your posts), but look at the specs:

GX 550 size:
  1. Height:
    1. Premium: 75.59" (+1.39")
    2. Overtrail: 76.18" (+1.98")
    3. Lusxury: 75.39" (+1.19")
  2. Width (w/o mirrors): 77.95" (+3.75")
  3. Length: 197.04" (+4.94")
GX 460 (2023) size:
  • Height, All trims: 74.2"
  • Width: 74.2
  • Length: 192.1"
There is no way on God's green earth that it can weight less than the current model, unless they triple the price and make everything carbon fiber and aluminum.
All that extra steel and plastic has to weight something.

I'll capitulate to the weight not being correct.
But no one should expect a lighter, faster GX just because it has more pony's under the hood.
The added size measurements can't be disputed, and adding that much size will take a hit on the extra HP.
One other aspect to consider is: with the new GX having such an efficient engine, if the GX 550 was close to the current GX in weight, I'm willing to bet the MPG would be a lot higher. In fact, I'd be willing to wager that putting that same TTV6 in our current models would improve a lot of performance spect's, everything from MPG to 0-60 MPH, etc.

Just some fun banter... :p

Anyone expecting a Cayenne competitor is in for a bad time. But there has also been 15 years of material and manufacturing improvements since the 150 platform was launched so I imagine more high strength steel and adhesives and such counteract the size increase. Also consider the 1mpg improvement in fuel economy for the 550 is with factory 33s not the little baby tires we started with.

Good point about tire size. Didn't even consider the tire size. Even the non trail versions I believe are getting 20" or 22" wheels, so even the road version tires will be a larger O.D. that current GX's.
