I am looking at a 100 series located at a toyota dealer in San Antonio. I was wondering what most people did in regards to the PPI when the truck is already at a toyota dealer. Do you have them do a PPI, take it to another toyota dealer for PPI, or take it to independent shop? If independent shop can some one recommend a good one in San Antonio. Do you recommend having a compression test done?

While we are at it, does anybody have an opinion on this truck? http://www.alamotoyota.com/used/Toy...-antonio-2606bee90a0a00023221dfdf1f258bb6.htm

I dont really have any pics yet either except a couple blurry cell phone pics.

Thanks

A PPI at that same dealership is not a good use of your money. They have a conflict of interest.

Several years ago, I lived there in San Antonio Don't know if they are still around, but Dalbert's on Dinn Rd was one of the few places where I would take my cruiser when I couldn't wrench on it. In fact, Dalbert's brother used to work at Alamo Toyota years ago. Or, the guys at Orient Auto on Braniff Dr. across 281 from the airport are very honest and knowledgeable. Whichever is closest to you....

One good thing about that truck, based on the Carfax (which is not necessarily a comprehensive info source), that rig spent its whole life in South Texas, so it should have NO rust at all. Downside, the interior could have taken a beating in the Texas sun if the owner didn't keep it in a garage....

Thanks if I do end up looking into this truck more I will take it to one of those places. I think the price is a little high for the mileage but that is the best service record ive seen yet
