I’m adding a powered sub to the factory system on my 06 with nav. Got power from the battery. Signal from the factory sub. So where is the best location to tap the on/off signal for the new amp? Assuming the factory amp under the PS seat but not sure which wire.

should be pretty easy to test, all you need is a 12v switched source. Just get the multimeter out and test which wires get 12v when switched on

Yes if it were one of the 4 going to the factory sub I have pictured but I don't think those are what I need. But I do not know why the sub would have 4 wires to begin with so maybe I'm wrong on that. I will try to test them later. I do plan on tapping into these for signal. Any idea if it matters which ones?

There are multiple variants of sound systems, so you aren’t necessarily going to get the right answer for you just by asking in the forums. Grab your specific service manual from the resources section, and look at the wiring diagram to avoid guessing games.

Great info! Thanks. I ended up using the +/- connection that Willyroo posted and it worked. I attached the control on/off wire to the same + and it works great. I appreciate all the input.
