Power steering Q's

new here just got a couple of Q's:

1) Is it cheaper to buy or rebuild the pump?

2) If the pump is bad is it safe to asume the box is on the way out as well

3) Where do I find a replacement intake hose because the power steering fluid has ruined it and it needs to be replaced

I think that it's best to buy a new one. Cruiserparts.net has them brand new with the resivor for $350 I had been running a rebuild one and it crapped out on me only after a year. More than likely the box is still good. On the intake hose I'm sure that cruiserparts would have one too.

If you plan on keeping it for awhile I'd buy a new one. You'd hate to have to replace it a year down the road

The pumps usually fail long before the box needs any attention. The low pressure hose can be bought by the foot at NAPA.
