G'day everyone, just trying to figure out how to mount a PS pump on a 3.6 litre H diesel. Anyone out there done it? Will the 2H mounting bracket fit? Or is it a full custom? Also, where to drive the pump from, as I've been told that a dual pulley harmonic balancer is out of the question on the H motor?

Cheers.

Nobody? This might be the spur to replace the motor, as I'm finding the old armstrong steering near unbearable.:steer:

Pump mounting

I've installed mini truck pumps on a couple of 2H motors :wrench: in the past but, they have handy threaded holes in the head.........IIRC the H doesn't :frown: am I correct?........ If so, you maybe SOL........as there's not a choice of mounting options....

I endded up doing a custom mount, but that vehicle is goooooooone now. The 2H came with factory power steering in the 60 and 75 series here, so you can use the mounting system from those vehicles, with a little bit of fabbing up for one mounting bolt on the pump. There's a few topics on the outerlimits4x4 forum and the 4wd action forum as well.

I built one on the spot in a couple of hours for a HJ at Faultline Fabrication the day they were closing up shop seven years ago. Everything went by pretty fast because of the commotion of closing, but as I recall the premise was to use a standard boxed gusset aftermarket shackle [think SOR or ConFerr] and cut one ear off one side of the shackle so that the double eared end would be the anchor for the pump and the single ear end would be used for building an anchor to the engine itself.

Sorry, but that's as much as I remember.

Best

Mark A.
