Search.... there are several detailed threads on how to rebuild them.

There's a seal washer under the lock nut on the adjustment screw that tends to leak, especially if it's been disturbed (loosened and re-tightened). If that's dry and the hoses aren't leaking, then it's the internal seals in the box that's leaking and need replacing. There's a very detailed step by step rebuild procedure, with pictures, in the Frequently Asked Questions section.

I just purchased this vehicle. I can't tell where it's leaking from, and all I see is fluid under the gearbox. How hard is it to rebuild this thing? Anybody on here that specializes in rebuilding something like this?
Thanks,
Ted

Just looked at the rebuild. It doesn't look too bad, but since the owner of this rig has to pay either me or a professional to rebuild it, I'll just send it to West Texas Offroad to make sure it's done right. I've already got enough to keep me busy.
Thanks guys

I just did this a couple months back. Seal kit from Edleman, mine is bone dry since. Take your time and it is a straight forward project.

My steering box was leaking out the bottom. 50 miles would drain it completely. Poured some brake cleaner in the reservoir. After driving a couple hundred miles it has sealed up and doesnt leak at all.
