there's a cool thread in the 80's section about power steering coler upgrade.
i already replaced my 80's with oem last year, but after fixing power steering pump on the 60, looks like its leaking from the cooler and pressure hose.

so, anyone think this mod would be better to do on a 60 than the oem package?
anyone done non oem cooler have some pics of mounting location, etc? probably could mount it in same spot they did in the 80 series i imagine?

any opinions on this?

hell, I'd throw one of those $25 ps units Ive seen on napa or someones site if there was a good place to put it and it worked better at cooling.

anyone have problem with their new pump overheating after replacing it and the cooler?

I have this one in my TLC

very easy to install it, but no matter what your PS pump are not designet to do hard work with big tires in rocks ..

Assist ram is the way .. ( I need to do that )

I did about the same thing on my 60, with the Flex-A-Lite fluid cooler mounted to the front of my radiator. i notice that now after heavy wheelin my pump doesn't whine any more. it cost about $30 bucks to do.

The same opinion in my case .. but the issue is, with 37" + chains + arb + heavy mud I need assist ram .. no other way.
