Power side mirror switch (any ideas??) (1 Viewer)

It may be a fuse, but I'll be damned if I can find it.

There are heater elements in the mirrors? I had no idea. Not much call for those here.

I'm having a similar, but I think different, issue...2006 LX. Folding works fine, left and up work on both mirrors. Via Techstream I can move each mirror in all directions, so doesn't seem to be a mechanical constraint or ECU to mirror issue.

I (perhaps stupidly) bought a new OEM switch without consulting here first - and I have the same symptoms with the new and old switch. So - I don't know where to go from here.

Pull off door paneling and check connections from switch to ECU? And then after that, replace wiring, then ECU?

I have the same scenario. Don't suppose you solved it yet? :)

Sure haven't...

Planning on checking connections from switch to ECU, including wiring, but haven't gotten to it yet. Will post here if I find anything.

I have a 2003 LX470. Mirror switch does not move either mirror in any direction. The mirrors do fold and auto dimming seems to work. My seat memory wasn't working either so I first tried a replacement used ECU (the one in the door) from eBay. That fixed seat memory but mirror control is still not working. I have checked fuses and they are ok. Hesitating on just buying a new switch or trying to diagnose further first. Will report back if I have any breakthroughs.

Side note: for those who have the passenger mirror not returning to normal position after going into reverse, there's a TSB on that: The TSB is L-SB-0108-09 :

"Some 2003 - 2007 model year LX 470 vehicles may exhibit a condition where one or both of the outer rear view mirrors will not automatically return to the proper position when shifting from reverse to drive. A newly designed mirror ECU is available to correct this condition. For 2003 - 2006 model year vehicles it is also necessary to replace the mirror actuators. This condition does not affect the manual operation of the exterior mirrors from the adjustment switch."

This is an expensive fix though (new mirror ECU + actuators are pricey) so the practical compromise solution is keeping side selector switch in the middle so the mirror won't dip in reverse.

^^^ you can connect to the mirror ECU and see if it is seeing the inputs from the switch.

In my case, the switch and ECU appear to have no defects in techstream. Mirrors fold, but do not adjust (either via switch or techstream). I assume this is a mechanical malady, but didn't get around to figuring out how to pull it all apart yet.

If yours DOES move via techstream, but not via the switch, you can take apart the switch and clean the contacts/traces.
