So where do you guys go for this?

I imagine there are a lot of good ones in the valley.

I have a skid plate, hubcaps and a rear sway bar I need done soon.

Thanks

Oh there are a bunch. What makes one better than the other is the prep and whether or not they pre-heat the metal before apply the powder to go into the oven. Andrews Powder Coating is the best around period but you pay dearly for it. Like 5x as expensive as everywhere else. Back in the day I had the entire interior of my 40 done for just under $300 and it was a LOT of pieces and in two different colors. But I don't remember that place. It was a long time ago. If you do go with someone let me know, I may have some stuff to throw in as well to get the price down.

Okay, I'll let you know what I decide to do.

Thanks man

If I remember to ask Brian in the morning, he just got a SMOKIN deal. They blasted AND powedercoated his roofrack for $80!:bounce:

For $80 I might be interested than my usual $20 rattle can job.

Joey wrote it down in his little electronic thingy, but I think Brian said the place is called Azusa Powdercoating. Maybe JLH can check it out for us, since he's the furthest east!;)

Well I searched for Azuza Powder Coating and couldn't find it. I have a feeling its under a different name. But I would also be willing to bet there is a more locally available on that is just as cheap.

Hey, that's the one I was going to use! Manchao is the one that suggested it. He also has some stuff he might want to send it soon so now is the time we should all pool our stuff and take it in.

I think we'd get a better price the more stuff we have them do.

Is this them Frank?

I'll forward him this thread and see what he has to say. I know he just mentioned it to me yesterday (Sat) when he came over to drop off a Nutsert tool...gotta learn how to use this thing.

I'll keep you all posted

Hey guys....

Yeah.. I have used this place before.. to PC a few handles sets the hinge on my trailer and the rear hatch handle on my 60...

I dont know much about PC other than the work they have done for me is great and cheap...but only time will tell how good it will hold....

Like Jose said.. Im looking at dropping off a set of Jerry can holders that came with the trailer I bough.
I fab-up a box like so as to keep them fuel cans from getting trash while driving and + I can put my plastic fuel cans there...if needed be...

The guy (whose name scapes me right now) showed me some of the work he has done and it got me sold.....
He also mentioned he has had some peeps PC their hoods on black...without getting them warped.. so it does sound like he knows what he is doing....

Another thing that I was not aware but Im now is that there is supposed to be a charge for setting everything up.... this guys has never mentioned anything and his prices are the lowest I have seen any where......

Jose, I would take the nutsert to king bolt and ask for 10 mm nutserts.. I suggest to talk to "tony" when you go there... some of the kids that work there dont know their sizes or would tell you they are out of stock when they are not... just an FYI..

Since I got my rig on the road now..... I'll see if I can make it to the next meeting.. love to meet all of you guys and check out yah'll set ups......

Laters,

Frank

Hey Frank,

Thanks for the info. Let's get that PC stuff ready....just say the word.

HIJACK: About the nutsert...I think you're exactly right, the kid didn't really sound like he knew the size I was asking for. Hope they'll exchange it for the right stuff.

Hmm, good question. I'll have to call the guy and see if he hang around after work as he may be closed/closing when I get home.

I'm going to try him out with one part first and see what kind of quality I get.

Manuchao got his Jerry Can holder done, but I'm going with a different finish (glossier) and want to see how it comes out first.

Whadya think?

You're offering to be the guinea pig? Works for me!:D

Yeah, I'll try to have that done before the next TC meeting and take it in for all to see.

So I went in today and took some hubcaps and a rear sway bar.

I wanted to start small to see how the stuff came out. When I got there I was greeted by the owners daughter. Very friendly. The wife was also there.

The daughter speaks English very well and I don't think the owner does, but there isn't anything the daughter couldn't translate. I let her talk to him before I started speaking to him in Spanish.

Anyway, the stuff came out great and I'll post pix tomorrow. Oh, and the price was very reasonable.

Thanks to Frank(Manuchao) for finding this place.

I'll be taking some of the stuff I got p.c.'d to the meeting this Tuesday so you guys can check out the work.

I figured it'd be better to see in person than posting up pictures.
