Please state the the year and mileage of your rig as well as what mechanical work has been done, at what mileage and if it was necessary or optional at the time. I am trying to set up a reliability/mileage study.

All cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

2004 TLC 36,000 all routine maintance done, nothing has gone wrong since new.
I bought it 3 months ago and this is what I have done.

Remove running boards and add front mud flaps.
Remove roof rack.
Bosch icon wipers.
Front and rear brake pads replace with OEM, fronts were at 20%, rears were at 30%.
Brake fluid flush and switch to Valvoline syn fluid.
Oil changed to Mobile 1 5/30W with OEM filter.
New OEM air filter.
All 4 shock replaced because I want a stiffer ride to Bilstein HD.
Overhead DVD for the boy:grinpimp:

Future mod?
Dice icelink iPod interface, they have one ready in couple of week they say?
Bridgestone Revo's when the snows come off!

I've got about 88K on mine. Nothing has gone wrong with the truck (unless you count that bad DieHard battery :)) and I've recently done the 90K service.

101K on my '02...regular service including 90K...no other problems

That kind of brake wear is unusually high. Previous owner must of ridden them hard.

I thought 30-40K for brake pads was the norm:confused:
The front had 5K left and the rears had 10K left on them. I like changing pads when they are at 70-80% worn. It saves on rotors and it's piece of mind. They are cheep enough from cDan at less than $100 for F & R.

That said they have lasted twice as long as pads from the 80:crybaby:

2000

bought 3(or 4, cant remmber) years ago with 75K on it, had new tires which I replaced.

But now at 108K

work done, 90K service, did the H2o pump and belts+ all the normal stuff, spnt less than 1K on all that

2 weeks ago, replaced O2 sensor for $200(dealer installed)

thats it besides stuff I added. Brakes were close to new at 75K I think, still have a ton of meat left on those.

oh I busted the antenna....

will replace plugs sometime this year.

What I've noticed with 100 series is the rears wear about 2x's faster then the fronts. I think the average (if with brakes there can be an average, more what I've read on this board and experienced with my first 100 series) Around 50K-60K on the rears and 75K-80K on the fronts. But it sounds like you changed yours just because you wanted too versus needed too. Do a search on brake wear and you will see what I'm talking about. No big deal. Enjoy your new LC.

I wonder if the wear pattern is different w/ the '03+ 100's. Jditom's wear is pattern is more like what mine were (fronts wore before rears). At 49K mi, my fronts were < 50% (don't know how much less, as the CPO sheet didn't exactly say), rears were at 50%. My rotors (not sure if front or rear) have a little pulsing (noticeable if lightly braking when driving slow, like 5-10mph), lots of material remaining. It was like this when I bought it, but did it slightly less (and I brake lightly). I elected not to replace rotors at 57.5K since I had the dealer do the repack (got a good price, labor only, CDan parts). I'm too nervous about the dealer installing front rotors, as they don't evenly torque the rotor to the hub, causing premature warping. The rear pads will be replaced around 61K w/ the next tire rotation, I might try installing new slotted rotors there since they are so easy to change. Then if the pulsing persists, I know it's the fronts and will replace them myself to ensure the rotors are evenly torqued to the hub.

Anyways, just finished the 60K service last weekend (had toyota dealer do the ATF change and bearing repack, I did the rest). Also cleaned the TB. Running all M1 delvac fluids (5w40 in engine, 75w90 gear oil in t-case/diffs, -20004 OEM oil filter).

That's amazing you can get so many miles on pads for such a heavy rig. I do not think mine would have gone more than 45K but we live in the hills and it's a lot of up and down driving:cheers:

I am pretty sure my rear pads were original to the vehicle when I ground one of them into the rear rotor at ~95k.

That corresponds to the wear I'm getting...about 40% left at 60K mi.

2000: (PO) New Starter - 90K, New Throttle Body and seals replaced - 90K. New Battery. Gen Drive belt with 60K service. All needed, vehicle would not start at times and stalled on the highway on a couple of occasions - it appears it was never diagnosed properly - Reno Toyota never reads mud it appears.

120K. Timing Belt, Gen Drive Belt, plugs, water pump, thermastat, all fluids, spark plugs and pulleys and tensioners only if needed. Doing this as preventive - do not want to get standed in the Colorado back country loaded up with Capming gear and the wife and kids.

125,000 miles

90,000 mile service including timming belt, new pads at 110,000 (the 2nd set) replaced alternator, h2o pump, belts and plugs, lots of oil changes, new battery, new wiper blades,

Note - the alternator , H20 pump, belts and plugs were preventive maintence not failures

No problems at all

102,000 miles.
Preventative maintenance only.
Oil change, brake pads, all fluids.
At 90 K, I did timing belt, water pump and starter contacts.
No problems, no failures.

2000 - 78K miles

Have perfromed all routine maintenance.

Replaced front CV boots at 45K. They were slinging grease all over.

Replaced all four damping actuator accumulators. I beleive this is from contamination of the fluid.

Presently, CD player does not work and power antenna is broken.

We've had some alignment issues.

Paint (black) has small white pinholes all over, through which the primer shows.

hkeller - could the paint pinholes be from a powerwasher? I had a 1997 VW (never again) in college and it developed the same problem.

2001- just did brakes all around, rotors in the front, new battery last month. Regular maint up until now with 59k on her. I am going to have to get a new amp eventually since it's getting weird, but my Wife isn't complaining loud enough yet!

Regarding the paint pin holes. I think it may be from the tree sap. My buddy has a black '99 and his paint has an identical problem.
