So I'm back at "work" and missing the dunes ripping/pork fest/ beer drinking/ eye candy Cruiser porn/awesome sunset weekend already somthin fierce.

Got home around 3 yesterday after stopping at Jocko's for lunch.

unloaded the rig to a chorus of "How'd that much sand get all the way in there?" and "we shoulda called in sick to work and just stayed" and "No way! there's another pork shoulder in the fridge still!"

Had an amazing time.

But missed Steve's tacos....how were they?

I loved how the SOCal 80's had the southern most point of the Poker Run.

Next year, let's just make it a weeklong event !

Who's wearing your shirt backwards? c'mon, you know.....

Wind was brutal wasn't it! We just broke camp first thing Sunday and left. Didn't even do Pozo this year we were so tired from not sleeping much because of the wind.

Shirt backward - I think it's great. Somebody in the SNT thread didn't open his ziplock until he got home and thought it was a mistake! LOL!!!

Checkpoint 1 was great - we grabbed that one because of the beautiful view as opposed to being buried back in the dunes. Wind started chopping us up pretty good where we were tho about 1:00.

Dang, I went to let you know we were cooking but didn't see you anywhere. There was still lots of stuff on your guys table though. The tacos were great but honestly, I could only eat two. I was already pretty full from the appetizer/beerfest leading up to dinner time. Fear not, we'll meet up again sometime for adobado taco's. They're one of my staples.

Great seeing you, and everyone else again:cheers:

No worries, bringing a one year old to the beach is it's own project. Just send me the recipe, and you'll be forgiven.

Hooking up while there's 300+ Landcruisers within a 1/2 mile is nearly impossible.

That wind was nasty. We hit the last checkpoint and the wind had just started like someone throwing a switch. By the time we got down to camp, we saw at least a dozen tents flattened.

But Thursday and Friday were picture perfect. I was in teva's and shorts all day and night with 75 degrees....I kept sayiing "This is November right?" I got my answer Saturday afternoon.

Dang - Any SoCal 80s pics?! Like to see how some of the Group's rigs have changed over the year - more mods less mods.

No problem. Head down to Kaelin's and buy as much as you want, they always have plenty:D

Seriously though, I checked the internet and found a few recipes that look about right. Pork shoulder sliced about a quarter of an inch thick and dry rubbed with primarily chili powder plus a little cumin, cinnamon, and maybe nutmeg and/or a little cocoa. Grill it up and slice into 1/4" cubes... Good stuff.

Ah, you've seen one completely stock green 4Runner, you've seen 'm all;p
