It sux when one of our dog companions pass on... For only being with us for basically short periods of time, we sure do become attached and they become such HUGE parts of our lives...
Hope it hurts a little less every day.
I remember my days at Cornell, make a trip to the Chapter House and have a few pints. We used to take our dogs there and relax with a few pints, not sure if they still allow this...

From my experience, the best thing to do after your dog passes is find another one. It fills the hole and makes things easier. This is especially true if you get a pup since youll be busy training it and picking up after it lol.

I got mine through the local pet save organization which made it win win for myself and my dog.

He already knows, safety first!

What breed of dog is he ? Looks just like my pup. We think hes part lab and maybe rhodesian ridgeback.

He's 100% Rhody, and 100% full of the dickens.

That pic there is at 4 months, and he's already over 50 lbs. He'll be very big for a Rhody, we're estimating 100 lbs when he's full grown. An average RR is about 80 lbs full grown.

If your dog is part lab I'd expect him to be shorter and stockier than the typical RR. It's hard to tell with puppies though, they change so much as the age. How does his ridge look?

Here's mine. She's shy.

I used the wrong term. He's almost 2yrs old. Hes full of something all right. lil punk. He's 85 lbs now, skinny but all muscle.

His fur is smooth except for the ridge. Its a more corse hair, and two different colors and kinda "wire like" for lack of a better term.

Heres one about 7 months and 35lbs ago

This one isnt that great but you can see the ridge

Definitely has a lot of the features of a RR. Face, legs, and body build are all very much RR like, though the head is blockier/wider than a lot of RR's. Almost looks like a golden retriever and RR mix, with that longer mane of fur around the neck, and the wider head.

Maybe it's just the pic, but I don't really see a ridge. Some RR's are born ridgeless though, and mixes can have very unusual ridges, from a very slight ridge to a really wide one that covers the whole back.

^ nice picture
