Otto, my 4 month old German Wirehaired Pointer. The American equivalent of the VDD Drahthaar.

Great dogs. I had a GWP for 10 years. The best pet I've ever owned. You'll have great fun with yours I'm sure.

Those rear sliding windows were made for dogs! Makes we want to install them on my 62. Great pics!

Thanks for the pics, keep them coming!!!

Sadly, I have a not-so-happy update to report as well regarding my dogs I posted above. Roughly a month and a half ago, both dogs were diagnosed with cancer (each had a different type). Nieko bear, our Akita, didn't make it all but two weeks after the diagnosis. We loaded him up for one last "cruise" and off to doggy heaven he went. He needed to go, he was in pain, and it was time. :frown:

Flash the Bassett is still kickin, but with steriods. At age 14-15, he has had a great life, I am sure it won't be long.

It's amazing how attached you get to your dogs. They are like kids ( I would imagine). My wife and I don't have any kids yet, so we really got attached to our boys. It's sad to see them go, but sadder to see them in pain.

Now, on a brighter side, we found an Akita puppy and picked him a few weeks ago. He's a little monster, but is going to be a great dog! Pic:

I am so sorry for both of your losses. It is losing a family member and it hurts the same whether they are fur covered or not.
