After doing the fuel filter, starter, and adding dye to the radiator, I took the truck for a drive and it was awful. When coming to a stop, the RPMs kept dropping into the 400s and it felt like it would stall out anytime. Other that stopping, however, the truck ran much smoother than in its pre-filter days. After searching the forum, I know I need to recheck my air hoses. Also, the TPS could be off. I came across a post that stated that it could take up to 15 starts for the computer to reset or adjust itself (hopefully not like CDan's avatar). The post was mostly just a teaser. Could someone elaborate on this?

My experience is the same - either after disconnecting the batt cable or pulling the EFI fuse. Rough idle, funny behaviour at start up. Just takes a few cycles but I've never had it take more than 5 or 6. I would first make sure you've cycled it several times before worrying.

Pull off your tps and check it against the fsm with a meter--this sounds like what I was experiencing. Also if you haven't cleaned your throttle body you should--it makes a world of difference.

AS MoJ said, definitely could be the ECU re-learning your parameters. Might as well check all the air hoses right away too (as you said) since you've been messing around in there. ;) If it persists, move on to Sr. Gringo's suggestions.
