My previous replacement was very involved with hub removal. This time I decided to try the 'shortcut', and I somehow managed to do it rather easily with 2 pressure clamps. Use one to apply pulling pressure while twisting the other clockwise and anti-clockwise couple times ... it popped off!

Hopefully it is useful to someone else doing this job. Saved me quite a bit of time!

You're lucky you even got it to twist! Congratulations!
Make sure you clean out and grease up the hole before installing the replacement.
Also, look into the hole and inspect the ring for debris while turning the wheel prior to install.
