Hi , i found these photos on some arabic forum and it seems like an update for the current rear tyre option offered which got criticized by many people..

any info on the photo ? is it new ? ? i think it is because if this photo was from the days prior to the 200 realase in '07 it would be covered up abit more ?

God, I hope not. Looks like a RAV-4.

i doubt it ! why would their be some black tape on the car ? ?

I posted that same photo above in the 200 Series photo thread (after borrowing it from outerlimits4x4.com). It looks to be the new Standard or RV model 200 Series wagon for the mining/agriculture markets. We used to get these models of LandCruiser in all series over here, but the 200 has been the first series in a lot of years where the pov spec model hasn't been offered. Looks like that is about to change.

I'd expect maybe the diesel engine from the 70 series ute (one turbo instead of two), vinyl interior, hopefully a manual transmission option and possibly manual windows - although surely it's getting cheap enough to offer electric as standard now? Probably a crappy stereo and pov spec aircon.

An honest work truck instead of a Toorak tractor.....

The "tape" could well be non-colour coded bumpers - fairly normal for the base spec models that came before it.

their is a poverty pack model !

its been offered since late 2007

over here in the middle east . .

how ever it has been criticized for being under powered ( offered with a petrol 4.0 240 hp ) and a diesel which is powerful , twin turbo ( auto ) single turbo ( manual ) how ever diesel isn't popular over here in the middle east...
it has also been criticized for the poor design of the rear tyre carrier as it covers part of the light

more photos
of the standard 200

the most basic one comes with no fridge , rear ac and vinyl seats ( rare to have one with vinyl seats though) most with fabric

and 3rd row seats are facing each other..

I wish this was available to me in my area. Sweet bare bones truck

Here in the middle east you can get the "G9" Spec - Like you see above its manual only transmission, vinyl floors, basic cloth seats, and dual rear bench (like you have in the TLC 76), 7inch wide steel rims with 35 PSI tires, no dual a/c, and basic color options.

I'd be happy to get one with the manual transmission - over here in Australia, the base model is the GXL, then you get the VX and then the Sahara. All Automatic transmissions only, with the 4.7L V8 petrol or the 4.5L TTDV8 as the only engine options.

In the 100 series you could get the Standard model, the RV, the GXL and then the Sahara

That basic model would actually get me into a dealership. Still need rear ac thou. Toyota - are you there? Are you listening? Here is an idea, let us order a 70 or 200 series anyway we want it in the USA.

Yes, how sweet it is! If that were available State side, it would get me in a dealship as well. If only....

Its true that the rear spare wheel carrier is covering part of the tail lights but more annoying is that you have to always move /open it when accessing the cargo bay. Even the top of the tailgate can't be lifted with the wheel carrier in the locked position. Specially considering the primitive locking mechanism of the carrier (pin in hole rather than a gas damper) makes the solution with the split doors much more convenient for daily use.
