Hi everyone! Great forum and the help on this site. I'm looking at a 2013 LC with 50,000 and certified pre-owned toyota warranty. I have had 4 runners and now GX 460 but looking to move to larger vehicle. The dealer sent me pics of the undercarriage and it has some rust. From the pics, would this hold anyone back from purchasing? Thank you for your opinions!

I hate rust so I personally would look elsewhere, unless you're getting a killer deal and with the money saved you'll sort the rust out and get the underside rustproofed.

To me just looks way too much rust for such low miles and age. Previous owner probably never had the underside cleaned off properly

Thank you for the feedback! Price is $48,000 right now before any negotiation has started. It is located in New York State

I wish the auto manufacturers would do a better job of rust proofing the frames & axles...

If you buy it, address the rust spots & do some undercoating before you show it the Iowa salt...

Just an FYI -- I got a 2014 new a year ago for $68K -- so I would maybe try and look at texas / az trucks before i'd haggle with a ny dealer on a poorly-maintained leaser -- that's just me though. rust never sleeps...

I just posted in another thread about frame rust, it is a known issue on the 200 series. With the limited production numbers, finding LC's from rust free areas will take time. From the pics it appears to have surface rust in all the common areas, notice that the body and other bits appear to be rust free. If everything else checks out mechanically, and your not afraid to get your hands dirty, wire brush and a protectant of your choice. Use the issue to see if they'll lower the price even more and go for it.
