Alritey..heres a link to one up in Newark NJ ..the mudship is coming down on this coming Sunday...he's got links posted to a flickr account

photos of the frame look debatable - take a look, tell me what you think..I could make this on:ban:e work..

I myself say pass.

From the few pics i seen, there was alot of metal work to be done. So unless this is under 1,000 then slip away.

its a little over 1K..and some of the pics I cant identify whats going on.. thought Id look up north since the mudship guys come down to charlotte next weekend..

I guess it depends on how much work you want to put into the truck. How nice do you want it to be ? Something that has been up north then will have a bunch of rot.

Never did see under the hood / under the truck itself on there. How are the frame rails / floor pans ?

Do not buy a truck from up north unless you have pictures verifying that the body is rust free. Salt up has probably already destroyed the truck from the inside.

If you're looking to drive that far, buy a rig from farther down south with a blown motor and fix it up. At least she won't have rust.

Amen on that. Check out the body i am working on right now for that. It looked really pretty on the outside with a nice paint job, but the bondo under it hid alot and i have alot of work to do on this we were not prepared for.

Have you seen this CL ad? I saw it on the Upstate Cruiser page. Note, as the description and ad do not say Land Cruiser or 40, it might not have gotten a lot of hits.

Looks pricey, but he says he is negotiable. Too far from me to go see it in person during the week.

Keeping the fingers crossed - and thanks for all the 'heads up' links and PMs..I dont care what they say on the Jeep Forum..youve all been awesome helping me out!

Nope..I made an offer - understanding the issues it has .. if its meant to be blah blah - if its a no - then I guess we'll just go to Charlotte and see all of ya'll!

Just in case I just found this one, four hours away in Lexington-

TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 1979 FJ-40 RARE CLASSIC

Left him a message and sent email requesting the usuals (on hold on the one in FL I showed ya'll yesterday)

way overpriced as well, no hard top or doors (I guess:meh:), soft top looks terrible (especially how the doors meet the top), and looks like there is rust coming through the rear quarters. 5k tops imo.

Good to know - just spoke to him, he's going to send me more photos..which of course, Ill share..he's got records for every repair he's done and had done for the 17 years he's had it - which could be a good sign!
