I grabbed the kids so we could watch it fly around in circles. When it landed, I had a chance to get a pic.

I installed a bug zapper on the porch to take care of the moth population, and it seemed to work on the food chain (some evenings it's hard to go out onto the porch without almost getting smacked in the head by one of these little dudes). Podunk family enjoyment..:meh:

I pulled one out of an upstairs conference room a few months ago (how it got there??) with a pillow case and let the bugger go outside. It flew across the parking lot and into the nearest large tree. Up close they look like pretty fragile creatures.

I agree, good dusk time entertainment as they swarm for insects.

It's amasing, they can go inches from your nose/face and all you feel is the air the wings stir up, they are like owls, can't hear chit. I wonder how many pounds of insects they eat that don't make it to the zapper.

Sean - I would rent that out from you on random weekends you weren't there...we should talk terms if you are interested. Also Have Chainsaw(s) and Axes to put in winter wood and plenty of experience...:hillbilly:

there in lies the problem it's my mom an uncles place!

as far as the wood cutting goes we might have to talk about wood cutting for a weekend stay i spotted some potential junipers to cut but a big job would take at least two of us. as for location not far from moqui tower

Just put up a box on the side of my house up under the eaves hoping to have some residents to thin the skeeter population in the backyard... Bats are

Super cool to see them- I believe that’s a Mexican free tail. Sometimes when I walk the dog in the neighborhood at dusk-dark there’s hundreds of them flying around. Sometimes they fly low enough to hear them clicking away, echo location is super cool. They migrate down south in the fall.
