I see everyone here likes to use POR 15 instead of Rust Bullet. Is there a reason why? I checked both their websites and it seems easier to use Rust Bullet. Much less prep work required with Rust Bullet. It seems that if you mess up a little with POR 15 it won't adhere properly to the metal. How would you prep the inside of the frame rails to use POR 15? Is Rust Bullet an inferior product?

I have had no problems with Rust Bullet and have not used POR-15 to compare. I just clean a part up - get the grease and dirt and loose stuff off and then paint it. It has adhered great and is pretty good at self leveling and becoming smooth. I have no complaints.

Rust bullet is great. Their automotive formula is made to be able to spray through a hvlp gun. It dries almost like a powder coat. I would highly recommend it.

From what you guys are saying and after a lot of reading, I don't see why people are still using POR15. The prep work for POR15 has to be perfect for the paint to adhere properly.

i think you answered your own question, it has to be perfect for por 15 and i find the people who spend a lot of time and pay attention to a lot of details using por 15, cuz they have already gotten everything anally clean. :)

I used por-15 exclusively on lots of my cruiser. Infact all the body parts got por'd. It sticks like glue.

One thing to note with any paint is to be super clean and free of greases/oils/ dust etc. A proper adhesion wil only happen when clean.

Por-15 is very hard paint.

As for the frame question, I don't think it is possible on any frame to paint the inside successfully.

I plan on painting the outside very well and spraying a grease/waxy oil for the inside.
