I powder coated the auxiliary tank and main tanks in Fire Engine Red.

These were taken in 2017 during the restoration, and look as good today as they did then. Never regretted powder coating,

I finally have the early 70s centerpiece down, I cast it and painted it, this is the first so they will get better.

With both tanks what’s your average mileage?

The mileage is ‘smiles’ per gallon. However, the aux tank holds 20 gallons and I can make 3, 35 mile trips to my job site and back (70 miles round trip)….so 3 x 70 = 210, so just over 10 MPG. Maybe more, maybe less….20 miles of the trip is 60 plus MPH, 15 miles is Stop and Go….And that’s with a 30% overdrive….yep I’m packing an old Hone-O-Drive. And that’s also with AC blowing on those hot afternoons home…yep also packing Vintage AC.

Smiles per Gallon baby……is like 100 plus….all those Ford and Chevy bad boy coal burners…..are green with envy
