So I am looking at a 2005 LX470 it has 132k miles and seller is asking $16000

my issue is when I pull the car-fax, it shows 6 owners! would that steer you away?

the current owner has had it 4 years and maintenance has been performed.

thanks for your opinions..

Personally, I don’t think number of owners is a big deal. Especially if stock.

I like well maintained gently used trucks. However these trucks can take a beating so one that has poor history can still be a hell of a ride.

Could there be better options? Sure. Really depends on your situation, intended use, preferences, etc.

Would I buy if I was in the market? No. But the number of owners is a small factor in that decision.

Maintenance > Owners. A 15 year old vehicle is going to have its fair share of owners, not a big deal to me as maintenance is far more important. I’ve thought about reaching out to this owner, but not good timing for me. It looks like an average deal to me. If it was on this forum, it would be listed for 20k lol.

I would not be concerned with that many owners on a 2005. Much more important is maintenance history.

6 owners that took care of it is better than 1 owner that didn't.

i realized the 3 owners have the same title # so does that mean its the same person? Lease, Corp and Personal all same number...

Probably.

No offense, but these are kind of common sense questions... if you are 46, you must have some experience with making big purchases like vehicles, right?

Also, would not buy a vehicle that’s spent a significant amount of time in Hawaii.

i also wonder if a call to Car fax would fix the report and show them as 1 owner. not sure how much of time it spent there, but it has a clean bill of health from Toyota and also TB,WP, steering rack, all fluids flushed brakes etc.
