Occasionally a club member will head down a trail solo, without notice to others, then get stuck and send out a SOS, then we go get them, it happens.
My first experience was a member that got everyone to meet at Dennys? Promising to buy everyone’s breakfast. Wow! What a club!
Then the promisor flaked and no showed. 🤣
19 years ago and nobody has forgotten 😂

nobody has forgotten or got their promised breakfast... well, except one... me. but I had to weasel it out of him.

oh well, that guy has a heart of gold but everything else is questionable...

Matter of fact, that guy has not shown at the mud run for some time, perhaps he'll make amends Saturday?

also, temps in the lower 70s for Sat. Should be nice weather for a potentially short drive.

I’m planning on doing breakfast in ukiah since the start is later. You gonna make it John?

I have to drop wifey off at airport(SF) in the am, depends on how fast I make it home, I think I could get ther by noon and catch up, take yer radio & put it on the pmc chat channel. Is there a repeater up there we can hit so it's not just antenna to antenna ? I'll check San Hedron for tracks coming in, if nothin there I'll head up lower

SFO? in the AM?? He is not gonna make it. (matter of fact, we might be heading back by noon depending upon road conditions.

also, I need a ride to airport last weekend in April.

Tony, I Am going, going to stay at friends camp spot at the lake so going anyway, had planned to stay so as not to have to drive back. we'll be running around if not in rig on bikes. If you all head home I'm sure there will be a few still out there, we'll see.

Sorry folks, I'm going to be a no-show. Last minute work... stuff.

Thanks to
Trail Leader Adam Reichmuth and his dad Joe,
Jeff Nyholm who had a new C note in his pocket
Don Gatton who wants to be at the end of the line
Ross Woody and his future son in law... not worth remembering his name until he is part of the family
Ross' daughter Alex and her family in their not so stock 4Runner who promptly left their front bumper in a mud puddle
Seth Sizzle from Novato who journeyed out again even after attending last year
Jason Wandry and friend Justin; Jason again had mechanical electrical and civil overheating issues (fortunately he brought a leaf blower & trailer)
My copilot, navigator and good friend Michael Dremann who had me laughing all day
and Doug Freutel as in 'That's all of us and Doug too!'

I guess you had to be there.

Hi gang,
Our trip out was slightly uneventful…
Jim Brown, wife and pup stopped by when they saw the hood up. After a short conversation about his rig (LS 6.0 14bolt, kings, 42s LJ / retired parts from his ultra4 car) he agreed to take me out to the tow rig as they were leaving anyway. Super nice couple!
After a good 30/40 min rip out to the bridge we got out and I noticed I didn’t have my….
You guessed it!
Any way, she took the dog for a walk and we got the keys and Justin about 25min later..ha! He then made short work of that road back to the bridge (Justin got a beating in the back seat (his words). Was a blast

I offered to pay for fuel…absolutely not. Pay for a nice dinner but he refused. A solid wheeler no doubt.
Jim definitely made that a great trip for me!

also, if anyone is curious, loose ground lug… totally over looked. I saw power to the fan and figured it was blown. Sorry about the unnecessary drama. Live and learn.

Great to see some old and new (to me) faces. It’s always a good time with good people! Here’s some pics from the run:

Who did the fireworks show at the end of air strip on Sat night, that was impressive ?

for those who cannot guess what J forgot... he has a history of leaving his keys either in his tow rig, unlocked, windows down... or in this case, left them in his stranded wheeler I am guessing. Nicely done Jason, Jim sounds like a great guy and typical of off road enthusiasts.

Sizzle, thanks for the photos! Still think you are a stud for tackling the upper trail, the one in which I backed out after seeing those ruts.
Discretion is the better part of valor but now I wish I had followed you... I mean literally, followed your line in your stock runner.

the mud run always leaves stories for such a simple day run...
