Please help! Extreme tire wear issue during roadtrip (1 Viewer)

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, Skimlinks, and others.

Look at or ask your questions on one of the desert racing forums (Pirate4x4 has a racing section; Off-Road Racing News » race-deZert.com is another off the top of my head). Those folks will have found solutions to the issues you're having. They can also point you to shops that can help. Looks like your route should take you into an area where you're likely to find those shops too.

Hey Fexl

Sorry to hear of your dilemma! Did you post in ivoac.ca? Lots of Delica owners there, might be worthwhile.
FWIW

Thanks for your reply guys.

@zebrabeefj40: Thanks Nick, I'm going to post there as well.

@motorcoach123: There is also delica.ca, but both are Canadian forums. We need someone local (in the States) who can fix our issue.

So how much positive camber did it have? Did they give you any numbers at the shops you've been to? Is the wear on the outside (too much positive camber) or the inside?

I was just thinking that many on this site are not too familiar with Delicas (including myself) and there might me someone here in Canada that may have gone thru a similar problem with their D that could offer some tech. FWIW.

Cheers,
Gord

Sounds like an Upper Control arm issue to me... camber as stated before. If it is the case, you need shorter upper arms. If it is what I'm thinking, this is a common problem with "over-lifting" an IFS setup. My dad's Tundra has the same problem with a 3in. spacer lift.
