Hello, everyone my name is Demetri and this is my first post. I love this site and I've been hanging around for awhile; the information has been totally invaluable. And I am hoping you'll might be able to help me. I have an 04 LC that I just bought two months ago. It has 184k on the clock, one owner, all service records, went to Kenny Dean in Waretown, NJ for an inspection and had the valve gasket and pan gasket replaced and refreshed the suspension. On paper this truck is a winner. This is where the mystery comes in: If the truck sits over night the battery dies and I have to jump it. Okay not that big of a deal. I did my due diligence and checked the battery, alternator, starter, etc. Then searched forums but nothing concrete was coming up. I don't have the tools or the know-how to test the fuses.

So, I took it to a trusted mechanic and had them look over the truck. What they found though was the after disconnecting the battery and charging it, it came back at full charge. Good news. Then they found a draw of 400 milliamps to 10 amp fuse for the radio system on right side kick panel. The fuse also controls rear seat control and CD changer. They came to the conclusion that it could be the Body Control Module but are not confident in their findings. And were unable to complete the diagnosis and I was sent on my way. Is the BCM difficult to install? I can source a used one from Ebay but I don't want to buy one and that does't solve the problem.

My question is does this sound normal? Does any one have or have had something similar? I don't want to give up the truck. So I'm really at a loss here.

I had a very similar issue with my 2001 LC. If you search, you should find a few threads I responded to on this issue. Basically for the first year of ownership, my battery was draining weekly which switched to daily in the last 3 months. I was basically driving it like a Tesla with nightly charging. The truck is otherwise in beautiful condition mechanically.

Determined to fix this, I bought myself a multi-meter and started not only pulling fuses but also disconnecting accessories and measuring the draw. I cannot be 100% sure because I am not positive I measured correctly the first time but the CD changer in the armrest seemed to be the issue. I first thought it was a stuck CD but even after pulling the magazine, there was still a draw and sure enough I could feel some heat from inside the unit. I ended up taking apart the center armrest and disconnecting it (was not working anyway). This really seemed to do the trick as I got it down to about a 50 milliamp draw. As an additional precaution, I also disconnected the underseat NAVI (out of date anyway) because I could hear it spinning with the key in. Lastly, I lock my doors which I normally never bother with but that seems to get the draw at rest down to 20 milliamps. So far, this has been working for the last 3 weeks so I am pretty thrilled.

Primetime4, thank you for the response. I, too, pulled the magazine out of the CD changer, I also stopped using the key fob and no manually lock the door. And yes like you said it went from dying if I didn't drive for a few days to now daily and it's also getting harder and harder to jump.
