have you called the inspection station to check in yet?

Just called to confirm they had the keys and note. :)

Throw out bearing, is that a tough fix?

Oh yeah, I need a smaller diameter steering wheel, anyone got one? My fat gut is a real problem in this truck. :bounce2:

I have a Grant GT steering wheel you can have for a 6 pack.

The wine trucks are now heading north with jsaltlick" private stash

Unfortunately all the wine is currently stashed in my liver for processing

Dave- I can try to shoot you a pic of the steering wheel if you want it. it's gray and black leather and is definitely smaller than the regular wheel. Heading on vacation this weekend for a week so let me know

Dave the throw out bearing is a skate board wheel size bearing that sits on the end of the transmission shaft. its a $20 bearing and pretty much a pain to get out if that is all you are doing. I would do a new clutch at the same time. usually when your throw out bearing goes your clutch isn't far behind and I have had bad luck just changing one portion of the clucth system at a time.
I don't know how long you would have until it fails maybe sone one else can give you an idea on that . but just drive it for a week first before you take it off the raod again for a year +
Jason
congrats on getting it on the road. you need one of these hats when they finally make a logo.

Thanks guys! Drove great on the way home, I filled the tank and it still dribbles when full, not sure if it's an evap exit or a leak or what but I guess I'll go 10 gallons at a time from now on. It comes off the top of the tank near the pass. side rear bodymount.

The white steelies look better then I expected, and the wheels balanced out with very, very little weight (I never got the dynabeads). They are the correct width so no more TRE rub and about twice as many lug threads for the nuts to grab.

Looks Beastly! I mean that as a compliment.

Blue's gonna look great!! You gotta keep this for all the pain you've gone thru,.......

good job Dave
it looks great
bearing may possibly ease with use, prolly little dry from sitting
shouldnt strand you
could be misaligned clutch fork or something
bring it by tommorrow for a llisten:p

I listened way more tonight, not sure now that's what it is but I'm not sure it's clutch related at this point.....just noisy trans, going to give it a good flush and fill and take it from there.

Any challenges should be more for fun now that it's roadworthy. Must be a good feeling.

EDIT: Just saw you were keeping your FOR SALE thread up to date. Charlatan.
