Gary,

THANK YOU!!!!!! I need to crawl back under there tomorrow afterwork, I think I'm, "missing" part of/most of/all of that subfloor structure.... I'll get pictures.

This weather is CRAZY.... I've got 2 feet of snow in my backyard and now it's POURING rain.. going to be an ugly drive tomorrow morning.

Missing that floor support would be bad.

So how was the new job Dave?

First day of the new job is in the books and I'm pretty stoked, it's nice to get the ol' brain working again. I'm going to have to really be on my toes. :)

rblank,
It wouldn't be the only floor support with issues... unfortunately. This truck is probably destined for a trip to Kina's sooner then i thought.

that sucks man. My Blazer was like that.

Uglyness

The floor doesn't scare me as I can do the same thing I did on the other side, chop back to clean metal and patch it up.

It's the underside supports that are the big issue.

oh dear god what have you done:D thats does not look good, hopefully you don't have to go far to find some good metal.
by the way are those grass roots on the left hand side of that hole

Well, after spending some time laying under the truck I decided to cover the holes with some heavy rubber mats and move it back out of the garaage (want to get the car back in there, I hate scraping windows).

It's not the only place the floor ribs are bad and I just don't know how to fix what's wrong at this point. Time to take a step back and think on it.

The nice part is that my wife has fully accepted that Wonder Pig is a project and a toy and has stopped asking when it will be ready to function as an occasional "second car." :)

Also a good point is that it looks like my job won't keep me late very often at all..... since I just bring my MacBook home each night and work at home. (good and bad) This means I won't be forced to replace the Toy with an actual, road ready, second vehicle.

{sigh}

Don't ya just love the MacBook? Mine brings a smile to my face every day, especially since work bought it!

that is great! i think you will be sooooooooo happy when you get it up and running. clearly, you are more bold than me.
