So my old job ended yesterday, and the new one starts Monday. I get a couple of free days at home to do as I please. Yeah!

I spent a good hour clearing the loose snow off the driveway, cleared the steps and sanded all the ice were we walk. It's such a mess, alternating layers of ice and snow.... you other guys up this way know exactly what I mean.

Scrapped the snow off the pig and climbed in. Pumped the gas 3 times and it fired right up! I wasnt' expecting that... it's been sitting a long time.

Thankfully I put it in 4WD before I parked it and had no problem pulling it out overt the snow banks. :) . It's in the garage thawing out so I can pull up the floor plate and see what's up with that body mount later today.

Feels good to be working on it again. :) :)

So what are your plans with it during your time off.

We got about 3" of snow yesterday then the rain came and took it all away. Don't know why I even shoveled.

There's something wrong with the body mount below the driver's feet, it's loose and banging around. The frame side is fine but I need to figure out what's not connecting correctly under my feet.

Found one of my lower rad hoses was leaking, I tightened the band clamp and we'll see how that holds.

I need to get an inspection sticker on it so I can start driving it.

Definitely need to get this truck running.... Its kind of like the President of the United States flying JetBlue instead of using Air Force One.

You have any need for the rear links for a sway bar? I just cut them off the axle I got from RapoVT and have no use for them.

Axle was free to me, so the links are free if you want them.

You might want to come out to burlington for a pint at some time. I have a buddy getting rid of parts from his attic. Lots of piggie stuff. We stripped two of them a while ago. Lots of nice doors, heaters, i think a hood- you get the idea. Need anything?

Does he have a steering shaft?

I will be over to his place tomorrow. I did not see one, but it is as organized as my garage, so who knows.

If I see one, I will grab it for you.

That would be great. I think I need one for a 60 p/s swap.

which doors? Front, rear or tailgate?

I know he has two sets of doors. Full, all in good shape. I can give him a call. He is a true cruiserhead, prices will be more than fair- especially if he does not have to ship the stuff.
.

Are these sway bar links for a front or rear axle? I actually wouldn't mind trying to figure out a way to do a quick disconnect front sway bar on my 40.

edit: I just read that 55's only had rear sway bars...settles that.

Just called him. Bastard is home getting his sleds ready to go out.

He has a full set of early doors with all hardware, glass, cranks, etc. He will sell them with or without said giblets. Really nice shape, a few dings from being moved around, and a few very small holes, but not too crispy at all.

You guys can work out a price either way. SHooting you a PM with his contact info.

If you buy them, you owe me one beer at the next gathering (that I actually attend- simmer down randy and wildman) for the hook up. :)

They are free to anyone who wants them- figured I should not throw them out.

Yeah, I mean I'll take them if your buddy has the steering shaft. I just want to make it worth your time so I can throw you a few bucks for your troubles. Maybe Wildman can grab them for me at some point.

Well, no surprise that I need to redo the floor patch on the driver's floor. The one that is/was there makes the patches I did on the pside look like pro body work.

What's weird is the body mount... does it really just bolt up through the floor??? As it was, there was 1 long bolt, going up crooked through the frame side of the body mount, through 2 rubber "pucks" then into the floor... which is angled there so nothing is tight or straight.

I picked up some more squares of 16g steel and bolts and washers to patch the floor up like I did the other side but I need to sort out how the body mount is supposed to work.
