Does anybody have any personal experience/opinions on Pierce Worm Gear Winches? I'm picking up another Cruiser which has one installed and was just interested. Its a 9000# winch and on their website retails for $739.00. No pics yet.

I have a Pierce 12,500# electric winch also. I like it alot. It is a bit slow. I rebuild mine before I installed it. Cost me like $6.00 for all the seals and didn't pay anything for shipping. Very nice people to deal with. They are located in Texas.
DONT sell that sucker.. Worm gear winches are BA. probably tougher actually then a 8274 bc of the worm drive. a little history actually. There were two winches used on the land rovers when going on expeditions and of course exclusively on the camel trophy tours. warn 8274 and i think it was a ramsey worm driven winch. Keep it though, they are awesome and never break down.

as said the 12,500 are slow...but...very strong...you will have no issues with the 9k.
