the valley, yeah that one
I'm getting ready to do the way past due rust repairs on my gutters. I'm thinking about painting the roof a lighter color (silver or?) to help with the heat. anyone got some pics? I know I could just photoshop it, but...here's a chance to show off for ya.:D

White roof

I painted mine, summer 2006. My truck is now a tri-tone.

That looks sweet. Paint, or white liner of some type? What happened to the old rack, was that factory?

The only reason I would not use Rhino liner on my roof would be for future rust issues. It would hide it, then when it is too late BLAM.... Your roof caves in LOL....

Also I would be concerned with removing it after if I did have repairs to do. But the way ROM did it you would be out of the main rust areas(ie the fn gutter)

White is the way to go.

Funny thing of interest.... Last summer at work we had a hot day. I had to move two suburbans to the shop. One black, one white. Damm what a difference in interior temp. Both sitting in the sun. I swear that reason alone I am only having white vehicles.... I hate hot cars.

ROM that special delivery is awfully nice....I have finally gotten thru them all :( Thanks very much :)

two tone greys look good.

When I think great color combinations I think of ski cloths and ski gear. The 1980s was the start of the ski fashion and functional trend and for some reason I like to see multi grey colors with a hint of blue mixed in. I guess if the cruiser has some colors that looked great it would enhance its looks. I saw a orange Chrysler M300 wagon? Not sure if that was the model but it really stood out and had some gold paint or sticker in the form of flames on its rear tail gate. Saw this as it drove buy and thought it looked great. I bet with photoshop we can play with colors untill something looks striking but does not get tired with age.

I used Krylon spray paint - gloss white, removed the CND factory rack and rubber mold roof strips (re-adhered after paint was dry), roughed up the surface with 3M pads, masked off the selected area to be painted and went to town.

I wasn't concerned with painting right to the edge as long as I had a clean frame masked off, the heat reflection would still be effective.

The rack in the aerial photo was a loner from a friend's truck for the road trip.

I got to ask... How hard was it to get the bikes up there? With the height of your truck, you must have had to have someone pass them up to you.

anyways awesome truck.

I have a two-step (just happens to be flat black with a grey stripe) which I use to put the bikes up, one at a time by grabbing the fork and seat tube and lying them flat, once they're up on the rack, I'll use the door sill as a step and upright the bikes, locking them into the quick release fork holders, I'll always lock the bikes to the rack using a plastic coated cable lock, just in case anything comes loose upon traveling. This only takes one person.

The total height measured out to be ten feet tall, so I was clear, as bridges on highways are posted at 14'.4".

i went for it. did they white roof and at first i didnt like it but it has grown on me.
i just bought some white spoked rims with 33s and will post pics when finished:cheers:
