Probably not, because they probably don't fit (unless it's a BFG tire that runs 1" smaller than advertised). I'm running 32.3" tall Yokohama 255/75r17s on stock wheels with 0.75" spacers, and they would rub like crazy if my rig was any shorter than the current +1.9" front and +1.4" rear height.

I could I have sworn that I saw on here that this tire would fit on a stock suspension, because it was not as wide as a stock tire (255 vs. 265). What kind of lift do you have that allows the 255/75 to clear?

255/75r15 or r17?

The 255/75 on a 17 will fit in the spare location, but probably only fit under the body of a mall cruiser. I actually rub just slightly on the ARB front bumper at full lock with my OME lift.

Icon coilovers front and Bilstein 0.9" springs + Firestone airbags rear. It also has a lot to do with how you align the truck to center the wheel in the fender, and I'm also running Element uniball control arms to account for some lift and more suspension travel.

Here you go…
this was on stock suspension (BFG KO2, in 255-75/17 flavor) before an airbag blew and I went to Ironman FCP’s.
I had some slight rubbing, in reverse at full steering lock, ON ROAD.
Never took it off-road on this configuration but guaranteed it would have substantial rub.
Also, I have KDSS and the spare did NOT fit in the spare location.

Did you ever measure those tires yourself?

I bet they were 31.3-31.5" tall (because BFG).

255/75r17 SL Duratracs with stock everything, but running boards removed. Spare fit in the stock location without an issue. The Metal Tech standard hitch I got later on had to be ground down a little as it pushed the spare forward a little too much. Front rubbed on the fender liner behind the fog lights. Poked 2 new holes on each side and was able to move the liner forward enough to clear easily.

Right on! It was in fact you who I was having a discussion about this a couple months back. When you had this setup did you beat on it in the woods. Did the front tires rub when the suspension was crossed-up? Also was it hitting the running boards at all or you took them off for other reasons than the tires?

Do you think you were rubbing a lot more because of the spacers? Also most 255/75R17s are not 32.3" tall! That is pretty big for that tire size.

I mocked them up with the 1/2" Toytec spacer on stock suspension just for kicks, saw the amount of rub, and proceeded with my suspension swap. I don't think I had the spacers on yet. Never drove it that way either.

So it was most likely the Diameter. These Yokohamas are impressive and spot on for specified dimensions.

I thoroughly enjoyed those tires out in the woods lol. I was always a little cautious with roots and branches since Duratracs are not known for their sidewall strength, but never had any problems. The tires didn't rub at all in any situation after the fender liner was moved up a few inches. I took the running boards off before I got the tires, so I am not sure how much space I'd have on that side of the wheel well. If they would rub on the running boards, 30 seconds with a utility knife would fix it.

I am pretty much set on going to this size and I am glad to here they did not rub for you in the woods. I might get a set of Bilstein's for the front and set them on one of the lowest perches to get a very small amount of lift in the front. I don't want to give up the air suspension just yet, I still have a 3rd gen 4runner that I use for beating on in the woods.

It looks like they measure 32.05" unmounted and fully inflated.
This site is amazing for getting exact specs on a huge number of tires. I've not run across this detail anywhere else.

32.05" is the math from calculating the theoretical diameter from the LT Metric tire size.

((255 x 0.75 x 2) / 25.4) + 17 = 32.059055

BFG gives the diameter as 32.1", which is what they claim for all tires in this size, as it's the same value just rounded to one decimal place.

I'm giving it a 98% chance that these tires are noticably smaller than 32".

Until someone mounts this tire on a 17x7 wheel and measures the diameter at a normal pressure (say, 40psi) and the max pressure of 50psi, with the wheel/tire off the truck so it's not compressed (for the love of all things holy people need to stop measuring tire diameters with the weight of the vehicle on them. I could rant for days about this LOL) it's all speculation. But I have yet to see a BFG that measures anything close to spec for diameter.

I'm pretty sure all tires are measured unmounted at full pressure. The specs I've seen on customwheeloffset appear to be physically measured in that they vary from brand to brand and model to model. I believe they're doing more than the math on the label.
These nittos in 255 75 17 come in at 32.17
The mickey thompsons come in at 31.97

I'm curious to see what is listed for a tire you consider to be more accurately labeled. Perhaps some brands compensate a little to make up for real world usage.
