I'm curious, why do so many people dislike the OEM running boards? i kind of like them.

Because the OEM steps and your rocker panels will get destroyed the first time you take it off-road. They are convenient if yours is a mall cruiser and the princess or the kids need some help getting in the truck.

The wheel and shift lever cost me $300

Do you know if Tino can match factory colours? ... like the dark brown steering wheel for those of us with tan guts?

He told me he could do any color.

You need to remove these!

Nice looking truck, now go get it dirty.

I was on the fence about taking them off but my boy's, age 3 and 5 can jump in the back with no assistance and thats priceless. The running boards look good in my opinion and I mainly use it on the beach or light trails and it's my daily driver that will be well taken care of.

I've got a 2 and 4 year old and agree with you on that! Nice rig and welcome.

I'm with you for looks, but they are rather fragile and also mounted to the body. So damaging them will usually, also damage rocker panels. They blend with the flares really nice, IMHO, when in good shape.
Lower clearance..........
Actually, this is not true with running boards that are in good shape. Mine are sagging from all the fat bodies that step on them to get in. Plus they do not take punishment well at all. I have an ugly crease in my USPS running board from it kissing a boulder on a trail when I wasn't watching as careful as I should've.

Agreed, they do that job exceptionally well, just be careful off road when in the rocks or on berms - they crush in a heartbeat when a rig as heavy as the 80 encounters any object that doesn't move.
P.S. Mine are coming off ASAP after my sliders get delivered. If someone bends one of my sliders by stepping on it, they are staying out of my rig!
