I'm looking to throw some new shoes on the set of Tundra 18s I picked up this week, and right now I'm leaning towards the General Grabber AT2s (probably 275/70/18, but maybe 275/65/18 or another 18 combination if convinced). If you're running these tires I'd love to see some pics!

Yes - I did search and found a few results.
Yes - I did specifically post this to our 100 thread because, frankly, I could care less what they look like on any other vehicle (but yes - I did search using the 100 thread specifically and still only found a handful of picturs).

Thanks!
Ben

honestly the tread pattern is very similar to the BFG AT KOs....

yeahhhh...but if I end up spending $750-$850 I'd like to see as many examples of this specific tire as possible, not merely similar looking tires. I'd ask you personally to throw up some pics, but yours were actually among the few that were readily available upon different searches and they look awesome.

Yes stock suspension. I think they were a tad cheaper and a bit lighter if I remember correctly. I'm not looking to build a truck to run off-road much and I was more concerned about gas mileage. My job requires I get there no matter the weather conditions and I commute 36 miles one way.

I have zero complaints about the tire. I've yet to run them in snow but all the reviews I've read, there shouldn't be any surprises.

I have Grabber AT2s (265/70R18) on those rims as well. They have worked really well. I don't have a good pic of the tires, but I'll try to get one this weekend.

That being said, General is coming out with the Grabber X3 that looks good too. You might want to check them out as well.

Sorry forgot to mention what my mechanic told me: That my tires are not "round" and they are a bear to balance. Maybe just my size was weird but they do like to be balanced often!

I can't decide. For roughly the same price ($850 including installation) I could do 275/70/18 Grabbers, or Nitto Terra Grapplers G2 but in a smaller 275/65/18.

Try the GrabberX3s and tell us how they are!

I threw them on the 02, then the 07, now they are also on the Tundra.

Love them, but I do have one that does not balance and only figured that out once it was put in the front. Going to have it swapped with my spare.

Have them in 285s on both LCs. E rated on mine, I believe the 02 has c rated.

Here are some pics.....

Those look perfect actually. Am I reading the tire correctly, they're 285/60/18s? Just out of curiosity, why did you decide on 285/60?

I don't know. I should have done more research. I bought that truck and was so excited to slap tires on it I got a size lower than I should have. My husband gave me a bunch of s*** about it.

Ive got my 2.5 lift sitting in boxes in my office. So I plan on getting new tires at the end of this year anyway. Those will have 35k on them by then. I will get the same tire again, or maybe the Grabber x3s...

Alright, I'm going to bite the bullet and ask a totally stupid question. I've been looking at general grabbers, and for 18's there appear to be the following options
1) LT275/60/18 AND 275/60/18
2) LT275/70/18
3) LT285/60/18
4) 33x12.5x18LT
5) 35x12.5x18LT

When you say you got the size lower than you should have, which exactly where you looking for?
Follow up stupid question:
I will mostly be driving my 100 on the road, daily driver etc. Hoping to take some classes, do some weekend offroading etc, but lets be honest, nothing too aggressive right now. I'm thinking the 275/70r18 yes? A little bigger then the 265's but still gonna fit stock no probem. Should I be looking at the 285's?

I really thought the 18" came in a size up from what I got...

I really love the 285s on the 16s, but as far as the 18s go...two out of five are out of round. One is the spare now and the other gets rotated from one rear side to the other, or we get terrible vibrations at 65 mph. My husband is running 305s and he hasn't had any issues with those.

I had them on some pretty steep/muddy/rocky trails, down to about 16 psi iirc, and they did well (tho I did get some ribbing for my "street tires").

Thanks so much for the responses.

Yeah, I'm not ready for 305's right now. It sounds like 275/70R18 might be the way to go for my much more pedestrian into to offroading use.

I ended up with 275/70/18 KO2s, but only because I found them on craigslist at a STEAL of a price from some well off older guy who didn't know and/or care about how much he sold them for. Otherwise I would have gone with these AT2s.

Aesthetically I think 275/70 is perfect. However, after digging into these AT2s for weeks I realized there were a few sizes that were not D or even E rated LT tires. If my memory is correct, the 275/65 comes in the basic load range (SL I think?) and weighs roughly 40lbs per tire compared to the 57lbs per tire of the 275/70.

Just food for thought.

The 16s I have on my 07 are c rated; the 18s I have on the 02 are e rated. I definitely would have bought e rated if they had offered them in the 285. Their offerings may have changed since I bought the matching spare sometime last year.
