Hey guys. I have been in the lancruiser side for a while, and i love my fj62, but with the the mods and 255,000 miles on the clock, its not the greatest DD. Im looking at selling it and buying something newer. I have been looking at 4runners and i think thats what i want. The only problem is in my opinion, they have to be built to look good.

I have been searching but not really getting anywhere with finding build threads on 4th gens.

Lets see some pics! List your mods.

It seems like we're in the same boat... My 60 isn't efficient enough, reliable enough, or comfortable enough for daily driving and the trips I want to do in the near future. 4th gen 4runners are good candidates for those things...

The 4th gen 4runner shares it's chassis with the Gx470, landcruiser Prado and the FJC is pretty much the same underneath too. Check out http://www.toyota120.com/forum/index.php for builds and other info. There's also a 120-series section here on mud, but its mostly full of the Lexus version builds.

I agree that they need to be built up a bit to really look good, although they aren't that bad looking with a mild lift and stock bumpers. I checked one out at a dealer a while back and id say it's a LOT more solid feeling than the FJC. I got the impression that it would be comfortable on a long road trip. Downside may be that it felt somewhat small inside from the driver's seat (plenty of cargo room though) I'm not a very big dude though so it didn't matter much to me.

Thanks for the info. Id hate to get rid of my cruiser, but i think it needs to happen. I think what threw me over was what happened yesterday with the fuel filter. I dont like being stranded in the rain when i have stuff to do.

TTORA would be a much better place to find build threads.
