Hopefully this fall i will be adding a few more gauges to my rig: pyro, boost, fuel pressure, for starters. I am looking for clean mounting options for them, pics are always good.

I am getting a 2-5/8 diesel tach from autometer to go in the stock location, and I already have a mech oil pressure gauge under the dash to the left of the shifter. I figure i can fit one more next to it, but i'd rather not go to the other side of the shifter. I have a blank panel next to my heater controls I may be able to fit a couple gauges. I want to avoid having gauges straying too far from the driver side of the vehicle, and i don't really want to drill into my dash pad. Anyone have pics of some a-pillar mounts? Lets see some other clean moutning options...TIA

This works well in the 61. Has boost Pyro, and Fuel. I just haven't added the fuel sender yet. Its made by BD. I did'nt want anything big that was easily seen. I have mine mounted on the front face of the center console. Sorry no pics of mine. Its small so should fit the blank panel.

I agree about the analog gagues. I have head that the space right above the hole where the hand throttle goes.

my H4 button is there. i think i may go with the autometer "z-series", pretty standard black with orange needle. the nexus range is sweet but way $$ and probably too bling. ;p

Modest is better. I definately agree.

Do you have pics of the gagues?

Classic. That will look great in the dash of your HJ!

BD...literally 3 minutes from my door...if that helps.

VT: have your looked at Westach? If I was not in such a rush to get my gauges I would have used their 3" triple, and placed it on a pod on the dash. http://www.westach.com/images/showcase/R3T2-Triple_EGT.jpg You can get a quad in the 3" too.

I got the Phantom for my BJ74, and am going to change them out to the Z-series. The Phantom will end up in Poo. All are on the dash in pods.

I know...you want in, not on...

dude!

take out the center vents, keep the plastic ring they sit in the dash in, a little (and i mean little) dremmel action and........ BAM!!

you are a superstar! :grinpimp:

works for me, easy to see as it's about the same level as the factory tach and speed-o, back lit too.

i hate the "add on" pod look, same with the shizo on the dash :princess:

That does look sick. I would have to think about that for a while before I could make a decision on that.

If you do the IN DASH mount for your two gauges, remember to buy the 2 5/8" gauges. Dont try and make the 2 1/16" jobs work in there.

I wasn't going for esthetics, wanting something there fast so I could shim the wastegate and know effect. In a perfect world they would be in the dash cluster, removing the inside/outside temp, angled to the driver, and saving the altimeter...One day perhaps. Anyway, this is what the pods look like...z-series going in soon. I drilled and grommeted the backside of the dash cluster cover, so the dash is intact.

The single pod 3" quad Westach looks great. I have seen it on a 60 dash, and it's a nice looking face. Again, you have something sticking on the dash though. Mounting them in the 60 vents is a good idea, if you do not have AC or live in an AC area. I like the AC on my BJ74, so that is not an option. It is on Poo however...

If you really want them to match, get Testor's Fluorescent Red (#1173 IIRC). I bought the set & can't tell for sure from the bottles now. Paint all your old & new needles the same.

I put the Autometer 2-1/16 6K tach in the stock housing (took the shell off the tach) & painted all the needles. Really matches! Re-molding the stock housing took a day. Dunno, guess I was really crazy that day.
