I've got another tub lined up as mine is quite a mess. It's on a bent frame currently. front end damage to the frame. My frame has been repaired at the rear perches by a PO. I don't know how good of a job they did. i could get another decent frame for $200 bucks which is a good deal but more work and $ to deal with than what I have available to me now.

How hard is it to remove the body from the frame, the only thing I want off the old one is the rear cross member. How much time would it take? I should have a blowtorch available to me where the body is.

I'd love to take them both ie the good frame and tub but time and money are a problem. My truck is currently running great driveline is good and suspension ok. so monking with the frame is a PITA.

Depending on the wiring harness condition I may swap to that as well. this must be done on the cheap for now. my current cowl has some rust and damage so swaping just the rear of the tub might be a pain and not worth it...???

removing the body from the frame is not hard. i did break alot of the bolts tho, all but 2 i believe. using an impact wrench will be alot easier and faster, wish i would have bought one when i was removing my body.

as for the frame, if yours is straight no reason to switch frames, but if yours is screwed up and you dont mind swapping everything over, now would be the best time.

Of Course I do... sorry I should put that in the sig. line huh? Its a 78 fj-40. the donor is late 70's flat long taillights 76-78?

I have an impact at home ( a good one finally) I'll probably have the torch handy when I pull the body off the frame (donor). when I get it home I'll strip it remove all parts then get to minor body work and paint it. What would be a good cheap way to paint that sucker? Stripped and taken to body shop what would they charge for an ok shot of paint? I doon't want a show truck, just decent no runs painted tub.
