Made an offer on a 2001 100 Series and they accepted. Had no idea what they are going for or what it is "worth" but made an offer anyway and they said yes. Gave them a deposit and signed a "contract" so I hope it holds up... It wasn't for sale and they were just planning on trading it in on their new Land Cruiser when it comes in. It is spotless and rust free with 49k on the clock! I don't know much what I'm looking for on the Hundy but figure I can't really lose for what I paid for it. It was owned by an older couple and maintained at the local Toyota Dealer. Clean CarFax (as I figured out AFTER I made the offer, haha). Pretty excited about it. I liked my 2003 100 but never really drove it much. This one will pretty much be a Mall Cruiser and daily driver. It may see some dirt roads and camping but no wheeling. That's what my 80 is for.

I know these rigs are pretty capable out the box but haven't done much research on them so am excited to see what I got myself in to. :grinpimp:

I need to read the FAQ to see what I should be looking for and obsessing about...

Sounds like your timing was perfect and that's crazy low miles for an '01. Good luck closing the deal.

They come to my work a few times a week so I kind of "know" them. Great people. More money than they know what to do with. She always says I'm a "nice boy" (I'm 40 but could maybe pass for 35...ha). It doesn't get driven in the winter here because they "winter in Florida" so it stays here in the garage.

49k is crazy low. If I saw it online I would think it's BS. But I know of the people and it makes sense. I can't wait to get it. I just got a big promotion at work so I'll be driving around quite a bit. It will be nice to roll in a Hundy.

Nice Find!! I waited a bit and found a low mileage unit meself ;)

jelly

Nice find. Is it rood to ask what you picked it up for?

I don't mind you asking. I told them I had $5500 and that I know it is worth more than that. I told them I get my commission check in two weeks and could make them a more reasonable offer. They said that $5500 is fine because it "probably needs new tires and oil change soon". I know it's a smoking good deal and they know they were helping me out.

They also have a 2015 200 Series they keep at their winter home.

I think the dealer had offered them about the same amount and I know them fairly well. They are customers at my work and are well known in the community. Money is not an issue, to say the least. I really got the feeling they wanted to help me out, which is cool. It will probably go to my wife for her 3 block drive to work and I will take the Camry Hybrid for work unless the weather is bad. I will be driving quite a bit for work. As much as I love my 80 I don't think I'd really want to drive it 100-150 miles every day. Or I'll take my daughter's 4Runner once it gets here and give her the Camry. Who knows...

$5500 for a hundy with only 50k on the clock is almost criminal.

I honestly had no idea what a Hundy was worth. I know 80 prices are all over the board. It's all I had access to so it worked out. It probably won't see a ton of miles on it anytime soon.

It's really freaking clean. Like immaculate. I'm pretty stoked about it.

Holy crap. That is a criminally low price for one with under 50,000 miles. Heck, you could probably put it on Autotrader and make $10,000. That is an amazing score. Congrats!

What @Junglejack said. You got an awesome deal OP. Congrats!

I won't sell it. They did me a solid to help me out.

I knew it was ridiculously low when I told them that was all I had. I figured it was probably a $15k rig. It literally looks brand new. I will post pics when I have it in my possession. I don't even know what "options" it has or if there were even "option" packages.
