Hey all,

I bought a 40 and I'm picking it up Saturday. It's literally my 24th cruiser but I'm gonna stick with this one for a while. It's a hunter green color right now but I'm not partial to Hunter green.

That said I'd like to repaint. Doing a home paint job. I have a heated garage and live in New Enlgand so I have literally 6 months to paint it and wet sand. I'm cheap but want a good end result.

Questions:

Is there an advantage to doing a roller job with heavy wet-sanding vs. a rattle can job with wet sanding? I see some amazing roller jobs that come out great with serious elbow grease but I never seen any solid rattle-canned paintjob pics with the same shine. Is it a laziness factor with rattle cans or are there benefits to the thicker roll-on application?

Can you actually get rustoleum mixed to custom colors? There was a thread on that before but no definitive answers.

Any recommendation for repainting a spray on bedliner (the hunter green again) to match the new color. Polyurethane paint was recommended by someone but has anyone here done it? How did it hold up? Any tricks on prep since it's so rough?

I have all the time in the world to paint. i want to do it cheaply but have a nice finish when done. My time spent wet-sanding is irrelevant.

Thinking about the dark blue or the mustard yellow. i was gonna do a poll for what color to paint it but I'm color blind anyway so who gives a s***.

All advice is welcome openly!!! Thanks! - John
