I'd like to introduce Layla to the forum. Big thanks to everyone that gave their input in my quest for a 100-series Landcruiser/ LC 470. The Houston area seemed to have more LX470's and I was able to pick up a 2005 LX470 with 95,000. As part of the purchase I had the 90k service done with the water pump, and the windshield and rear bumper replaced. I couldn't be happier and I look forward to putting another 150-200k on her.

How she looked before she was cleaned up for the sale.

How she looks now with 20% tint and anthracite gray plasti-dip wheels.

I love the color and rims match it perfectly.

Thanks!

I agree. I plan to do a quick write-up for the anthracite rims. I know that plasti-dip is not a "permanent" solution, but it's nice to "test" the waters before spending $400-500 painting the rims.

I had mine powder coated for durability but the plasti dip looks great. Is the plastidip durable enough to withstand scrapes from off roading?

Plastidip will wear off rims. A guy on my old Subaru forum did his and when he went to remove a year later he was cursing himself. My tip of the day for plastidip is Goo Gone works real well when trying to remove.

Sweet truck ! Metallic blue vapor two tone is my favorite ( maybe because I own a 03 with the same color scheme ) . Mind me asking what you paid ?

Good buy, I like the wheels and was recently looking at doing the same color to mine because they are really disco mores from brake dust the PO didn't clean off quick enough.

Slickspawn, I doubt they will last on a trail. I'm sure others have anecdotal evidence that says otherwise, but I don't expect to be offroad in the near future, so I will enjoy it while it lasts.

IBWOZ, I paid just over 23K out the door. I kinda ate the 90K service, but I'm happy it's done and good to go for a stretch. Minus a couple of exceptions, the interior was flawless.
