I just got some of these Cigarette Lighter socket, panel outlet 12V Marine grade - eBay (item 120497358896 end time Dec-03-09 18:41:56 PST) 12v outlets for the trailer project and a couple for the truck too

I like that they can be mounted a couple of ways (with the 2 bolt hole collar from the front or with the ring from the back ) .

Price was worth it as I was paying $5 for the cheap cigarette type .
They were ordered and shipped out the same day on a Saturday from Cali and got them on Monday in NJ

Just something else to put on the list for trailer build parts

I bought some...but seconds later found them on sale at Amazon's for half the price !! :bang::bang::bang:

Oh well, still that's what I been looking for ..

Thanks for the tip.

Yeah now that I go back they are now cheaper too . when I was looking before they were comming up at $9.99 and thats why I went with the Ebay guy since I was buying 5 and he could toss in free shipping or a 6th one for free :)

they've got them at west marine, basically the same, but doubles... unfortunately they're more expensive there too.

and strangely, though it says "fits most cigarette lighter plugs" i've got a plug that does not fit in there... you have to hold it in to keep the contact connected. who knew there were different styles of 12v plugs and recievers? why wouldn't there just be one universal one?
