No, but for a locked cruiser, you should buy it. Price is right. Titles are not hard to get if you know the last registered owner, and it's not stolen

I really want it. And I will probably buy it. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it? Or anyone recognizes it or knows who owned it?

You'd have to get a bonded title. I've been watching this one for awhile. He doesn't have title. I'm not sure what's involved with that. I just wanted to give you a heads up

Yeah. Ive been looking at what it would take to get a bonded title. I don't think it would be too bad.

I'm not sure what is going on with the title, but at that price it's worth whatever hassle involved. A running locked 80 for $3,000? You kidding me?

This LC was sold by shop that wanted it out of there. I think the owner must have just left it there and didn't pick it up or something. It was advertised for Craigslist and when I called someone was already there looking at it. The shop owner just wanted it out of the way and sold it for $250. Pretty sure it was sold to the same guy that is selling it now.

I also talked to "owner". Not sure about AZ, but in CO the shop would have been required to apply for title to sell under a mechanic's lien. Nothing prevents shop client from now reporting his vehicle as stolen unless there's some paperwork somewhere. Just because VIN lists clear/no record found (CNF) now, nothing prevents current "owner" from reporting vehicle as stolen. "Owner" also described some problem with caliper/disk rendering it undriveable on road. He stated he planned on driving it around ranch for hunting.

I went and looked at this one also. There is no interior, the seats aren't bolted in (missing hardware). Misc dents and dings, paint is very rough. Brakes arent working properly.

It does run and drive. The repair shop owner sold it as a parts vehicle. I spoke with her, and she said she sold it for $250 to get it out of there as the 'owner' didn't respond to calls to pick it up after a long period of time. The guys selling it now don't want to take the risk involved with a bonded title. To apply for a bonded title, the first step is sending certified letter to the last known address of the owner asking them to give you the title or relinquish ownership. If they don't respond in 15 days, or respond saying they don't want the vehicle, you can apply for a title. The bond is set at 3x the appraised value and costs 10-15% to purchase. So if it appraised for 3k, it would cost 300-450 for the bond.

So there's a certain amount of risk involved with the purchase of it. This information is all from Motor Vehicle. It would take several thousand in interior, brakes, etc to get it to be a daily driven vehicle and that's assuming you can get a bonded title. I think it's worth buying for 1k if your plan is to swap locking axles into an unlocked truck and selling the rest of it to junk yard or scrap yard. Just my $.02.

There is no interior?! Ugh. Thanks for the update. I keep trying to scrape together the necessary funds and figure out how to get it, but...everything is pointing to waiting, saving, and looking for something a little better. Plus people that buy s*** for 250 bucks and then try to get a free 2750 for a car that doesn't have a title or an interior drives me crazy. Schmucks will be schmucks.
