Afternoon all. I’m working in Denver this week, figured Friday after I finish I’ll head down and take the Phantom Canyon Rd from Cripple Creek to Cañon City. Figure I’ll take it slow and stop and camp Friday and Saturday and do a bunch of hiking around.

Any reason a ‘15 Outback would have issues? My 80 will be staying in Wichita, sadly.

It was a very easy, but very gratifying road. No technical challenge, but great for a relaxing drive and camping. I will be returning with the wife.

Edit: Odd thing to note, I’ve never been in a more soundless place in my life. Honestly. First night had zero wind; zero birds, frogs, bugs etc. it was so quiet we could hear a mouse running through the campground. We got a couple with deadfalls. It was quiet to the point of being eery. But I’ll definitely be back.
