Maybe 60% that are on this board have, but I'd say the vast majority just go to the mall and get groceries. I have seen only 3 male drivers other than myself. The rest are all female. Kinda sux, but what can ya do?
I, myself may be going the other way. I have never had a LC before, but I just found an FJ 45 that would be a fun project.

No way it is as high as 60% from what I've seen. I'd guess 60% wouldn't know what an FJ40 was if it bit them in the ass.

In my town, only 1 person of the 5 that bought the FJ Cruiser had a FJ40 or still has an FJ40. It would be interesting to see the numbers though.

"Our" FJCruiser belongs to the princess. There are 2 running 40's in the garage & they aren't our first ones. Her FJC is in the process of being modified as we speak, and she wheels it. Carefull, other wimens on this board wheel theirs as well. Cheers.

I'm not saying they do, or don't, but for the most part, most women, and the majority of guys don't even know what an FJ40 is. And most of those people aren't on here...it's a lost cause...:shotts:

I'll bet the actual statistic is less than one percent. The demographic they are aiming at, almost gaurentees that, since there hasn't been a new FJ40 available since the early 80s.

I think it will run the other way. Some of the people who buy an FJC, will become interested, learn some history, realize the styling cues go back to the FJ40, and then will buy a Land Cruiser of some vintage. Either that, or after beating up their expensive sheet metal off the road, they decide to get something with more capability and less stuff to break. Either way, it's a good thing.

What is the demographic regarding men vs. women drivers of FJCs? It seems here it's a preponderence of women as well.

Thought I'd make my first post here!I started with a new 86 fj60 after getting into wheeling and listenening to the Mrs yell everytime it came home covered with mud I bought a 74 fj40.Never should have parted with it!The 60's still around though, owned by my brother in law.
I have no complaints about the cruiser and can't wait to start working on it.

Speaking From A Dealer Point Of View, Being A Fj Owner Myself And Talking To All My Customers That Are Buying Them ( 5-8 A Month )
Less Then 15%. Most Have No Idea About The History Of These Rigs. And Those Who Do Think Its A Jeep.

Ive had a forty since 1976, I have never had any other toyota, but I bought and FJ Cruiser, I just liked the look, Cheers, Larry BTW I still have a forty

I bought my first FJ-40 in 1988, a '72, and then a '64 FJ-45 in 1998. Unfortunately, I sold both of them (really miss the FJ-45). I bought my FJC in September and plan to keep it forever. My kids and I off-road it almost every weekend and are having a great time tinkering and playing. My seven year-old daughter loves it as much as I do and drives every time we go out. She's getting pretty good. Next year will get a OME lift and BFG ATs, as well as an ARB front bumper and AP rear. Should be a lot of fun.
