This guy always does great videos in a scientific / engineered manner. In these videos he's comparing different penetrating oils and comparing the torque require to break loose corroded bolts and whether any of these products work to protect from future corrosion. Very interesting...


And then there's anti-seize...
 
Penetrating oil should be called what it really is, Snake Oil!!
That's certainly been my experience with the stuff most of the time, but after watching these videos it does appear that some of them do in fact help and reduce the torque needed to break bolts loose.
 
I've been using Jergens since my teenage years and it has served me well....maybe I'll do a video on that
 
I have used PB blaster a few times to help old bolts, seems to help. Heat some time is not possible with rubber bushings and hoses nearby. To me seems like a few bucks to try rather than breaking a stud, or trying a nut splitter. The control on this is also suspect a bit, since condition and time will also have an effect, but still a good comparison.
